I love the magic of transforming spaces. My bestie Morgan took our balloon skills to a whole new level while setting up at Bomboms TX.
She set up an enchanting witch-themed brunch that brought some serious spellbinding vibes to the space. If you’re looking for inspiration for your next Halloween party, or just want to see how to make a room look wickedly amazing, keep reading!
The Setup: A Witch’s Wonderland
Product I LOVE
This balloon pump is perfect, whether you’re DIY-ing a balloon garland for your own party or building a balloon business. I’ve used this exact pump for years.
1. Hanging Witch Hats: The Floating Touch
One of the most eye-catching elements of the setup was the hanging witch hats. Suspended from the ceiling, they looked like they were floating in mid-air. The trick? Fishing line and a bit of magic (or, you know, some creative problem-solving). This simple yet effective decoration instantly added a spooky, whimsical vibe to the room.

DIY Tip: You can easily recreate this look at home. All you need are some witch hats, fishing line, and command hooks. Secure the hats to the ceiling using the hooks and fishing line, and voilà—your very own floating witch hats!

2. Balloon Garlands: Spellbinding Swirls of Color
Of course, no party setup would be complete without some serious balloon garland action. We went with a color palette of black, pink, and lavender to add a modern twist to the traditional Halloween colors. The garlands twisted around the room, framing the staircase, the bar, and creating a beautiful backdrop for photos.
Creating the garlands took a bit of planning and a lot of balloons, but the end result was worth it. The key is to use varying sizes of balloons to create depth and texture. And don’t be afraid to mix up the colors and add in some metallics for a little extra sparkle!
Pro Tip: Balloon garlands can be tricky to transport, so I recommend assembling them on-site whenever possible. If you need help getting started, my blog post on how to hang balloons with rubber bands is a great resource!
3. Charcuterie Board: A Feast Fit for a Coven
No brunch is complete without a delicious spread, and this witchy brunch was no exception. We set up a charcuterie board overflowing with a variety of meats, cheeses, fruits, and other goodies. The key to a standout charcuterie board is to offer a mix of flavors and textures, and to make it visually appealing. We added a few Halloween touches, like ghost-shaped cheeses and mini cauldrons filled with olives.
DIY Tip: If you want to create your own charcuterie board, focus on balance. Include a mix of salty, sweet, and savory items. And don’t forget to add some Halloween-themed items for an extra touch of fun. Need some ideas? Check out this charcuterie board inspiration on my blog.
4. Champagne Wall: Sip in Style
To keep the brunch vibe going strong, we set up a champagne wall that was not only functional but also looked fabulous. The wall was filled with glasses of bubbly, each adorned with a little tag featuring a fun witchy quote like “Cheers, Witches!” It was a huge hit and added a touch of elegance to the whole setup.
DIY Tip: You can easily make your own champagne wall with a pegboard, some acrylic shelves, and a bit of creativity. This is a great way to serve drinks in style while doubling as a fun photo backdrop.
Product Recommendation: If you’re looking for a champagne wall, this one on Amazon is a great starting point.
Adding the Finishing Touches
No witch-themed brunch would be complete without some extra details to tie everything together. Here are a few more ideas we used (or considered) to elevate the spooky vibe:
- Spell Book Centerpieces: We placed faux spell books on the tables, stacked with some potion bottles and black candles. It was a simple, yet effective way to add to the theme.
- Broomstick Seating: For an added touch of whimsy, we attached mini broomsticks to the backs of the chairs. It was a small detail, but guests loved it.
- Pumpkin Accents: We scattered some small pumpkins around the room, painted in our color scheme. It was an easy and affordable way to add to the decor.
The Party Atmosphere: Making Magic Happen
The best part of this setup was seeing everyone’s reactions. The combination of floating witch hats, colorful balloon garlands, and delicious food created an atmosphere that was both spooky and stylish. Guests loved taking photos with the decorations, and the champagne wall quickly became the most popular spot in the room.
But more than that, it was about creating an experience. As a former balloon artist, I love how decorations can transform a space and bring people together. This witch-themed brunch was the perfect example of that. Whether you’re planning a Halloween party or just want to add a little magic to your next event, I hope this setup inspires you to get creative and have fun with it!
